Sarah & Michael's Downtown Engagement Session
An Urban Love Story
Sarah and Michael wanted engagement photos that reflected their love for city life and the downtown area where they had their first date. We explored the historic district, finding beautiful brick walls, cobblestone streets, and hidden architectural gems.

- Pearl Street crosswalk for playful, candid moments
- Vintage storefront with character and charm
- City park for softer, greenery-filled portraits
Session Details
How We Made It Special:
- 2-hour session allowing time to explore multiple locations
- Wardrobe changes - casual first, then dressed up
- Mix of candid and posed photos for variety
- Golden hour timing for that magical soft light
- Movement and interaction keeping photos natural and fun
- Urban props - they brought coffee cups and vintage books
The Perfect Light
We timed the session to end at golden hour, when the setting sun bathed the brick buildings in warm, glowing light. This created those dreamy, romantic images that engagement photos are known for.
Behind the Scenes
Sarah was initially nervous about being photographed, so we started at the coffee shop where they felt comfortable. Once they relaxed and focused on each other rather than the camera, the magic happened naturally. My favorite shots are them laughing together in the alleyway.
Favorite Moments
- Michael dipping Sarah on the cobblestone street
- Sitting together on vintage steps, looking at each other
- Walking hand-in-hand down the brick alley (shot from behind)
- Sarah laughing as Michael whispered something in her ear
- Rooftop sunset silhouettes against the city skyline

Client Words
“We were nervous about engagement photos but you made it so fun and easy! We love our photos and get compliments constantly. They perfectly capture our relationship and love for the city. We can’t wait for you to photograph our wedding!” — Sarah & Michael
The Result
Sarah and Michael used their engagement photos for save-the-date cards, a guest book for their wedding, and they framed several for their home. The urban aesthetic perfectly matched their style and gave them variety they wouldn’t have gotten in a single location.
